Jack & Terri's Story and Full Video Testimony
Terri & Jack Saltiel Dr. Jack Saltiel was born in Salonika, Greece, into a Jewish community that would soon be devastated by the Holocaust. His survival was due to his mother’s extraordinary foresight and courage. Warned by a contact in the Greek resistance that the danger was real and imminent, she insisted that the family flee—despite resistance from others who feared the consequences of leaving.
Her decision saved their lives. Shortly after, the vast majority of Salonika’s Jewish population was deported and murdered.
After the war, Jack rebuilt his life in the United States, where he became a respected professor of chemistry at Florida State University.
He later married Terri Rose Saltiel, a fellow Holocaust survivor, and together they shared a commitment to preserving memory and educating future generations.
Dr. Saltiel’s story is a testament to the power of intuition, courage, and decisive action—and to the lives that can be saved when one person chooses to act.
