Meet
Peter Nelson
Peter Nelson is an educator, consultant, and advocate for Holocaust remembrance and social justice.
He served for 24 years as Executive Director of the New York Office of Facing History and Ourselves and now works as a DEI consultant, most recently coaching JEDI (Jewish Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) for the Jewish Federation of North America.
He also trains children and grandchildren of Holocaust survivors to share their families’ stories in classrooms across the U.S., Canada, and Australia. A former NYC public high school teacher, Peter holds a B.A. in psychology from SUNY Binghamton and an M.A. in philosophy from CUNY. As a child and grandchild of Holocaust survivors, he is deeply committed to education and remembrance..
